GEOMETRY WITH ADVANCED ALGEBRA
Course Registration No. MAT-009
COURSE OVERVIEW
Year 1 of a two year study of Saxon Advanced Mathematics, 2nd Edition. Year 1: Study Lessons 1-70 (Geometry with Advanced Algebra). Year 2: Study Lessons 60-125 (Trigonometry and Pre-calculus).
Text covers permutations, combinations, trigonometric and inverse functions, conic sections, matrices and determinants, binomial theorem, rational roots, Euclidean geometry, and fully integrates topics from algebra, geometry, trigonometry, discrete mathematics, and mathematical analysis. Word problems are developed throughout the problem sets and become progressively more elaborate. With regular practice, high-school level students will be able to solve challenging problems such as rate problems and problems involving abstract quantities. Conceptually oriented problems help prepare students for college entrance exams such as the ACT and SAT.
