Collection: Old Testament I and II Booklist

Old Testament I (OT1-B)

First Semester | 16-week Course Plan

The first of a two-semester course. The guiding text for this course is Fr. Laux’s Introduction to the Bible, a clear and approachable text that guides the student through the Old Testament and the Church’s role in interpreting Scripture. A primary focus of the course is development and memorization of simple summaries of the individual books as the student reads the Old Testament to put in place a framework for easy look-up of biblical passages and grasp of the grouping and historical settings of the books.  The second semester, which is optional, covers the prophets and wisdom books of the Old Testament.

Old Testament II (OT2-B)

Second Semester | 16-week Course Plan

Part II: This is the second part of a two-part course, a continuation of the study started in Old Testament I.  This is an optional semester.  If you decide to drop Old Testament II, skip to OT2 Week 09 to complete the readings, discussion, and paper about the Book of Job and turn OT2 Reflection Paper 09 (Job) in with the work samples for Old Testament I.
